Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
- Journal of Mathematics, Engineering, and Chemistry (JMEC)is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against any publication malpractices. All parties involved in the act of publishing (authors, journal editors, peer reviewers, and the publisher) must agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior.
- Responsibilities of Editors
- Publication Decisions: The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should be published based on scientific merit, without regard to the authors’ race, gender, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
- Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and the publisher.
- Conflicts of Interest: Editors will recuse themselves from considering manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors or institutions.
- Responsibilities of Reviewers
- Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and may also assist the author in improving the paper.
- Promptness: Any selected referee who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and excuse himself from the review process.
- Confidentiality: Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
- Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Referees should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
- Responsibilities of Authors
- Reporting Standards: Authors of original research should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance.
- Data Access and Retention: Authors may be asked to provide the raw data in connection with a paper for editorial review (especially for AI and Engineering simulations).
- Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that they have written entirely original works. If the authors have used the work and/or words of others, this must be appropriately cited. Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
- Acknowledgement of Sources: Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given.
- Multiple or Concurrent Publication: Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior. However, submitting a revised version of a preprint (e.g., HAL, arXiv) is permitted, provided it is disclosed upon submission.
- Dealing with Unethical Behavior
- Identification of Misconduct: Misconduct and unethical behavior may be identified and brought to the attention of the editor and publisher at any time, by anyone.
- Investigation: The editor should take reasonably responsive measures when ethical complaints have been presented concerning a submitted manuscript or published paper.
- Sanctions: In cases of proven misconduct, the journal may publish a formal retraction, an erratum, or, in extreme cases, ban the authors from future submissions.
Publication Charges and Open Access Model
- Journal of Mathematics, Engineering, and Chemistry (JMEC) is committed to the widest possible dissemination of scientific knowledge. To support our global research community, we operate under a Diamond Open Access model:
- No Article Processing Charges (APCs): Authors are not required to pay any fees for the submission, processing, or publication of their manuscripts.
- No Hidden Costs: There are no charges for color figures, supplementary data, or extended page limits.
- Immediate Open Access: All accepted articles are made available online immediately upon publication under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license. This allows for maximum visibility and ensures that your work can be read, shared, and cited by anyone, anywhere, without barriers.
This publication model is made possible through the generous support of Laboratoire de Mathématiques et Intelligence Artificielle(LMIA) Abbès Laghrour University of Khenchela,Algeria ensuring that scientific merit is the only criteria for publication.
Guide for Authors
- Thank you for choosing Journal of Mathematics, Engineering and Computer Sciences (JMEC) to publish your research. To ensure a smooth review process, please follow these instructions carefully.
- Manuscript Preparation
All manuscripts must be written in clear, concise English.
- Format: We strongly encourage the use of Word (For Download Paper template Template JMEC.pdf) for papers involving complex mathematics (especially for PDEs and reaction-diffusion systems). Word documents are also accepted if formatted correctly.
- Structure: Papers should typically include: Title, Abstract (150-250 words), Keywords (4-6), Introduction, 2020 AMS classifications, Methods/Mathematical Framework, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, and References.
- Equations: Use standard LaTeX environments (e.g., \begin{equation}). Ensure all variables are clearly defined.
- Submission Policy
- Originality: Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration by any other journal.
- Preprints: We support open science. Authors are welcome to submit papers previously deposited on preprint servers such as HAL or arXiv, provided this is disclosed in the cover letter.
- Open Access: Journal of Mathematics, Engineering and Computer Sciences (JMEC) is an Open Access journal. Upon acceptance, articles are freely available to the public.
- Peer Review Process
Each submission undergoes a Double-Blind Peer Review:
- Initial Screening: The Editor-in-Chief checks the paper’s alignment with the journal’s scope and basic technical requirements.
- External Review: At least two independent experts evaluate the manuscript for scientific rigor, originality, and clarity.
- Decision: Authors will receive a decision of Acceptance, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Rejection usually within [e.g., 6 to 8 weeks].
- Ethical Guidelines
- Plagiarism: All manuscripts are screened using professional detection software (e.g., authenticate). A similarity index above [e.g., 20-25%] (excluding the author’s own preprints) may result in immediate rejection.
- Authorship: All listed authors must have made a significant contribution to the work.
- References
Please use a consistent citation style (e.g., APA, IEEE, or a standard Mathematics style like AMS). Ensure all DOIs are included where available.
