– Awareness of industrial property: CATI organizes awareness programs on industrial property at the University of Khenchela. These programs aim to inform students, researchers and academics about the importance of protecting industrial property, the procedures for filing patent and trademark applications, the economic benefits of industrial property, etc.

– Assistance in filing patent and trademark applications: CATI provides assistance and advisory services to academics and researchers for filing patent and trademark applications. This includes advice on drafting applications, state-of-the-art searches, filing procedures and modalities for protecting industrial property.

 Promoting the valorization of university research: CATI encourages university laboratories to valorize their research results by protecting them through patents, trademarks or other forms of industrial property.

 Training and capacity building: CATI collaborates with the incubator to offer specific training on industrial property to students, researchers and teachers. These trainings can cover topics such as patent drafting, management of industrial property rights, intellectual property strategy, etc.

 Collaboration in research and technological development: CATI offers collaborations with research centers, companies, other CATIs to promote research and technological development, by encouraging the protection and valorization of research results. This can include collaborations for the joint filing of patents, the creation of university spin-offs, or participation in innovation funding programs.

CATI is the relationship between WIPO and INAPI and universities and it is important to promote industrial property, the valorization of research and innovation. This collaboration contributes to strengthening the link between the academic world and the industrial sector, thus promoting the economic and technological development of the country.

The second role is to seek commercial partners and help university researchers identify potential commercial partners interested in commercializing their patents and trademarks according to the University-Business Liaison Office (BLUE). This may include industrial companies, investors, business incubators, technology transfer companies, etc. CATIs facilitate the connection between researchers and these commercial sector players.

The CATI of Khenchela University has worked closely with intellectual property experts, university researchers and local business representatives to gather relevant information and best practices in intellectual property protection.
