This morning, April 20, 2026, the University Board of Directors convened, chaired by Professor Dr. Said Deradji, representing the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and under the supervision of the University Rector, Professor Dr. Abdelwahed Challa.

This meeting was dedicated to approving an increase in the capital of a subsidiary with an economic focus, with the aim of contributing to the collective investment fund.

Science Day

A week brimming with student activities was organized by various university clubs under the supervision of the Sub-Directorate of Scientific, Cultural, and Sports Activities, in celebration of Knowledge Day. The university hosted a series of events both on and off campus, with active student participation, including:

A student competition in innovation and entrepreneurship, organized by the Insightful Minds Club, with the participation of the head of the Khenchela University Business Incubator.

A field trip organized by the Creative Pen Club, under the supervision of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Languages, aimed at motivating and guiding high school seniors.

In the same vein, Abbes Laghrour University Khenchela welcomed students from the Martyr Zeroual Larbi Primary School. They embarked on an exploratory tour of various educational facilities, including the main lecture hall, the Faculty of Arts and Languages, the annex of the Faculty of Medicine, and the Artificial Intelligence Center, in an inspiring educational experience for future generations. The Pioneers Club and the Creative Pen Club also organized a training course in tourism guidance for students, facilitated by the Melbon Travel and Tourism Agency in Khenchela.

Additionally, the heads of the scientific clubs, accompanied by the Deputy Director of Scientific, Cultural, and Sports Activities, participated in a meeting broadcast on Khenchela Regional Radio to discuss student life and the role of clubs in enhancing the university’s dynamism and vitality.

Activities of the regional meeting of directors of university institutions in the eastern states

The Director of Abbes Laghrour University  Khenchela, Professor Abdelwahed Challa, participated today, April 18, 2026, in the regional meeting of university directors from the eastern provinces.

This regional meeting was hosted by the University of Biskra, under the chairmanship of Professor Mohamed El Hadi Latrach, President of the Regional Conference of Eastern Universities.

• The meeting addressed the following topics:
• Evaluation of the second semester and conclusion of the current academic year.
• Preparation for the 2026-2027 academic year.
• Entrepreneurship, business creation, and the promotion of innovation.
• Short-term mobility program abroad.
• Implementation of twinning projects with higher education institutions.
• The “Study in Algeria” program.
• Subsidiary institutions and the Fund of Funds.
• Student life and university sports.

Agenda:

This meeting was dedicated to monitoring the progress of implementing the sectoral strategy for the digitalization of higher education and ways to enhance the university’s digital presence. The meeting concluded by addressing and guiding the following technical areas:

Development of Digital Systems: Updating existing software platforms and ensuring their efficiency.

Statistical System: Establishing a central database to collect annual statistics for various administrative and academic departments.

Monitoring Digital Performance: Analyzing the performance indicators of the university’s official website and evaluating the level of interaction with it.

Digital Graduation Platform: Finalizing the lists of third-year Bachelor’s and second-year Master’s students to facilitate the electronic retrieval of the following documents:

Academic Transcripts

Academic Standards: Emphasizing the necessity of documenting and annotating graduation theses according to the APA system.

Library Coordination: Scheduling a working meeting with the Central Library officials to establish the technical mechanisms for uploading and digitally archiving graduation theses.

Activating the electronic portal for social services.

Training axis – Institutional project

On April 9, 2026, the Faculty of Arts and Languages, under the supervision of the Dean, organized a field visit to Bilal Ibn Rabah High School in the Chachar district. This visit was part of an awareness-raising program focused on social responsibility and school-based training.

This visit is one of a series of field trips aimed at high school students, particularly those in their final year. During the visit, supervising professors provided comprehensive explanations of the university registration process and the various available majors and specializations.

The meeting was well-attended by students, who demonstrated positive engagement and keen interest in the information presented by the professors.

In line with the national strategy for digitizing the higher education and scientific research sector, and in accordance with the directives of the University Rector aimed at modernizing administrative management, the Social Services Committee announces the launch of its new electronic platform to digitize all its annual activities.

This step aims to facilitate administrative procedures and improve the quality of services provided to university members. To ensure the success of this digital transformation, we invite all university users to actively participate and contribute to the success of this process.

Phase One Launch:

The Committee announces the gradual commencement of its activities on the platform. The first phase will be dedicated to receiving applications for the following categories:
