As part of efforts to activate and enhance international cooperation and exchange with international universities, a virtual meeting was held on February 8, 2022, bringing together the administration of Abbas Laghrour University of Khenchela, led by University Director Professor Abdelouahed Chala, and Southwest State University. The meeting was facilitated by Professor Houha Ali, delegate and representative of the Russian university in Algeria. Dr. Sahraoui Zoubir, president of the Wilaya Association for Environmental Conservation and Promotion of Sustainable Development (Khenchela), also attended the remote meeting. On the morning of May 10, 2023, the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences organized a doctoral seminar directed at research professors, doctoral students, and master’s students. The seminar, organized under the supervision of University Director Professor Chala Abdelouahed and the administration of Dean Professor Zouagri Tahar as general supervisor of the seminar, highlighted the importance of the current orientation of the Algerian state and the supervisory ministry towards renewable energies and addressing climate change issues. It also focused on determining legal responsibilities, as the latter is considered a threat to environmental security, studying the negative and positive impacts of technological development on sustainable development, examining all efforts to address environmental problems, rationalizing natural resource policy, encouraging smart cities, and using artificial intelligence in environmental protection.

Among the scientific outings aimed at spreading the culture of sustainable development among students, the Faculty of Natural and Life Sciences, in coordination with the Fisheries and Aquaculture Cooperative, organized a scientific field trip for Master’s students specializing in Ecology and Environment to the municipality of Remila. This was supervised by Dr. Wannas Mayada and Mrs. Tayar Nassima, accompanied by faculty professors, focusing on aquaculture in Khenchela province, as well as fish feed manufacturing at the same site, modern corn cultivation techniques, the use of giant pools, and new methods of rational water management in irrigation to ensure sustainable development.
