Digital Documentary Research Mechanisms – Practical Applications of Sndl/DSpace
The pedagogical training workshop on digital documentary research mechanisms, specifically practical applications of Sndl/DSpace, was organized today, February 2, 2026, by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, under the supervision of the Dean and the Head of the Department of Humanities, and chaired by Dr. Ghalia Ghadban.
This workshop was designed for second-year Master’s students in Audiovisual Studies and was led by a select group of media professors. Representatives from the Faculty Library, Mr. Lahbib Abaidia and Ms. Samra Zaïmi, also participated. The workshop featured scholarly presentations and practical applications that enhanced students’ knowledge of digital research systems, including the DSpace digital repository, the National Documentation System (Sndl), the Algerian Common Catalog, and the library’s electronic catalog. Participants were also introduced to Syngeb Web, a new system for managing university libraries, and learned how to utilize these platforms for their graduation theses.
