“Historic Urban Centers in the Aurès” was the theme of a national symposium held on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. The event was organized by the Laboratory for Historical Studies and Research on Heritage and Civilization—part of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences at Abbes Laghrour University Khenchela—in collaboration with the Khenchela Directorate of Culture and Arts and the Boulaaziz Brothers National Public Museum.
Through a series of insightful academic presentations, the symposium explored the historical, architectural, and cultural dimensions of urban centers in the Aurès region, while also addressing strategies for the preservation and valorization of their civilizational heritage. The event featured contributions from professors and researchers representing various universities across the country.
