Team 04 Our AAFPA research work is devoted to the oxidation of superalloys (FeCrAlY). These special materials found in aeronautics and aerospace technology are capable of resisting high temperatures (between 900 and 1200°C). This resistance to the aggressive environment is linked to the formation of a very efficient protective layer chemically and thermally; this layer is alpha-alumina. However, under certain conditions, this layer is not the only one to form; there is also the formation of layers of oxides such as (Fe-Cr) oxides and transition aluminas. Our research work is dedicated to the kinetics of the formation of these layers. In order to understand the phenomenon of the formation of these oxides, two ways of proceeding should be considered: |
– The oxidation of alumino-forming alloys (FeCrAlY..) between 600°C and 1200°C, – The calcination of alumina precursors (such as gibbsite and boehmite) between 600°C and 1200°C, Working from this perspective is very encouraging and allows a good analysis of the system.
