-In conjunction with World Press Freedom Day, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at Abbes Laghrour University Khenchela organized a national symposium on May 3, 2026, focusing on artificial intelligence and the media and communication ecosystem. The symposium addressed the prospects for scientific research and the challenges of professional practice.
-The University Rector, Professor Abdelwahed Challa, along with members of the university administration, welcomed the Secretary General of the Wilaya (province), representing the Wali (governor), and his accompanying delegation to preside over the official opening ceremony and launch the symposium.
-This academic event saw the participation of professors and researchers from 26 national universities, who enriched the symposium’s discussions with valuable scholarly contributions, including the opening address delivered by Professor Abdelrahim Siam.
-The symposium also witnessed a large turnout of university professors and students, as well as representatives from various local organizations and institutions. A significant presence of media professionals further underscored the importance and relevance of the topic in light of the rapid transformations occurring in the media and communication sector.
