A call to vote for the Algerian projects nominated for the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) 2026 awards.


Following correspondence received regarding Algeria’s participation in the 2026 World Summit on the Information Society (SIS PRIZES 2026), organized annually by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) during the WSIS Forum, we are pleased to inform you that four (4) Algerian projects have been selected for the next phase:
Project 1: Category 1: AL C1. The role of governments and all stakeholders in promoting ICT for development. Project title:
DigiTrust Network: Community Digital Inclusion Platform for Africa
Project 2: Category 2: AL C2. Information and Communication Infrastructures. Project title:
Artificial Intelligence for Digital Inclusion (AIDI)
Project 3: Category 3: AL C3. Access to Information and Knowledge. Project Title:
AI-Driven Visual Printing for Inclusive FTTH Connectivity Planning
Project 4: Category 16: AL C9. Media Project Title:
DZ-CheckNews
In this regard, we urge you to encourage your colleagues to vote for the Algerian projects via the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) online platform dedicated to this competition, accessible at the following address:
The voting process, which takes place in several stages as outlined in the voting guide downloadable from the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications website, will close on May 5, 2026, at 10:00 PM Algerian time. The five (5) projects receiving the most votes in each category will be selected for the second stage, during which they will be reviewed by the ITU expert committee, which will designate the winner in each category. We would also like to inform you that the winning projects will be officially announced at the awards ceremony which will be held during the World Summit Forum on the Information Society 2026, scheduled for July 6-10, 2026.
