Faculty of Social and Human Sciences:
The Faculty of Social and Human Sciences is one of the six faculties that form
the University of Abbas Laghrour – Khenchela. It was established in 2012 by
Decree No. 12/246, dated June 4, 2012, which established the University of
Khenchela. The faculty consists of two departments: the Department of Social
Sciences and the Department of Human Sciences. It includes several research
laboratories and teams, as well as numerous research and service facilities for the
university community, all housed at its headquarters located in the new university
campus.
The faculty offers various training programs in the field of social and human
sciences, with the curriculum evolving progressively since its establishment in
2012. The faculty has been qualified to train students at the undergraduate level
(Bachelor’s degree) in six different disciplines: Sociology, Psychology,
Philosophy, History, Media and Communication, and Population Studies.
The faculty also offers various master’s degree programs in seven
specializations:
History of Resistance and National Movement General Philosophy
Audiovisual Studies Urban Sociology
Organizational and Labor Sociology Clinical Psychology
Health Psychology
Additionally, the faculty is qualified to offer PhD programs in three
departments: Sociology, Philosophy, and History.
Over time, the faculty has seen growth in its statistics. By the academic year
2024/2025, the total number of students reached 1,540, with 107 professors from
various ranks and specializations, and 38 administrative staff members.
