CATI plays a supporting and facilitating role in the commercialization of university researchers’ patents and trademarks. They provide advice, help assess commercial value, seek partners, promote inventions and trademarks, and support researchers in negotiations and agreements. Their goal is to maximize opportunities for commercialization and valorization of university intellectual property.
The second role is to seek commercial partners and help university researchers identify potential commercial partners interested in commercializing their patents and trademarks according to the University-Business Liaison Office (BLUE). This may include industrial companies, investors, business incubators, technology transfer companies, etc. CATIs facilitate the connection between researchers and these commercial sector players.
The CATI of Khenchela University has worked closely with intellectual property experts, university researchers and local business representatives to gather relevant information and best practices in intellectual property protection. The guide aims to raise awareness among the university community about intellectual property issues and to promote a culture of innovation and the promotion of research.
