In Algeria, the chemical and metallurgical industry is the primary source of chemical and biological pollutants. In addition, the treatment of household waste by incineration confines a majority of the pollutants to landfill, a part of which is disseminated in the environment with emissions into the atmosphere. These pollutants confer a polluting potential which proves problematic for the environment and living beings.
The objective of our research team is to design, develop and evaluate chemical and electrochemical sensors and selective biosensors, based on ionophores and ligands designed specifically for the detection of pollutants, and the implementation of control and monitoring processes. industrial detection.
Our team relies both on the potential of chemical sensors, both technological (small dimensions and integration of sensor matrices, low-cost technology) and functional (multi-parametric detection, portability, remote sensors for risk areas) and on the complementarity of others teams constituting the consortium: A team of chemists, a team of electronics engineers, a team of physicists specializing in mathematical and statistical modeling and simulation.
