Our team conducts research at the intersection of pathophysiology and pharmacobiology, aiming to develop pathophysiological strategies for interactions with biological environments. The development of these strategies relies on the discovery of new bioactive molecules, the identification of molecular mechanisms, and the design of new treatments, among other approaches. This objective is reflected in the very name of our team: Molecular Pathophysiology and Bioactive Molecules.
Our multidisciplinary research team focuses on:
• Identifying new natural substances with biological and/or pharmacological activities of socio-economic interest, extracted from oils and plant extracts used in traditional medicine in the Aurès region.
• Conducting genetic, molecular, and epidemiological studies on various diseases that significantly affect local populations and whose causes remain poorly understood, such as cancer and cystic fibrosis.
