04-03-01 University Abbas Laghrour Khenchela is not just an educational institution that focuses solely on its enrolled students. Instead, the university makes great efforts to open its doors wide to the local community and share its rich educational resources with them. Through initiatives such as Moodle, DSpace, and the Intensive Education Center, the university aims to support lifelong learning and promote community development in the region. The general public can access and review these research contents without a subscription. These courses cover subjects in information technology, languages, and professional skills. Members of the public can view these materials on-demand to supplement their learning and professional development. This comprehensive and balanced approach to education and community development makes Université Abbas Laghrour Khenchela a leading institution in the area.       04-03-02 University Abbas Laghrour Khenchela hosts public events open to the general public on its campus: In addition to the digital initiatives mentioned earlier, the university organizes public lectures and community educational events on the university premises. For example, the Intensive Education Center at University Abbas Laghrour Khenchela has announced the opening of enrollment for diverse language courses in December 2022. These courses will include English, French, German, Italian, Chinese, and Spanish. Additionally, courses in computer science and software programming will be provided. This training program will run from Sunday, November 20th to December 21st, 2022, and is available to the general public at a reasonable cost or free of charge. These community events and training courses organized by University Abbes Laghrour Khenchela reinforce its commitment to serving and developing the local community by making knowledge and skills accessible and available to all in an open and facilitative manner.                   04-03-03 University Abbas Laghrour Khenchela offers a number of open-enrollment public educational programs: Executive Education Programs: We provide a variety of short courses and seminars in areas such as leadership, management, marketing, and technology. These programs are targeted at working professionals who wish to develop their skills and expertise. The duration of these programs ranges from one week to two months, and they are held on weekends or during regular business hours to accommodate the schedules of participants. In addition to these school-based programs, the university also hosts public lectures, workshops, and interactive demonstrations specifically designed for the general public. Abbes Laghrour University hosts 10,321 students, including 489 graduates in healthcare professions   The university has concluded multiple agreements and collaborations in various healthcare fields with hospitals, including maternal and child health facilities as well as  community health centers, to improve health outcomes.  These are the various agreements in the health field:  1-Agreement between the university and the Balsam Al-Shafi Clinic for Diabetes and Endocrinology 2- Agreement between the university and the Public Institution for Neighborhood Health 3- Agreement between the university and the Directorate of Health 4- Agreement between the university and the private clinic Al-Widad 5-Al-Hikma Laboratory   The university also strives to provide several community awareness programs, which include educating the public about the risks of  diabetes, encouraging blood donation, and promoting prevention of breast cancer and cervical cancer.   However, the university remains committed to supporting the health of its students and staff by providing access to mental  health support services. Report on Health Services and Programs at Laghrour University Abbes Laghrour University, located in Khenchela, Algeria, has integrated a broad and impactful approach to sustainability, social welfare, and community development. Central to its mission, the university has digitized the meal service across all dining facilities, including campus and central restaurants, effectively minimizing food waste and enhancing service efficiency. This initiative aligns with its vision to create an environmentally responsible campus where resources are utilized wisely and waste is minimized. A dedicated team actively monitors food waste levels, ensuring that the dining facilities operate efficiently and sustainably. This systematic approach has created a noticeable impact, significantly reducing food waste across campus  Currently, the university provides accommodation for 8,596 students, including seven international students from Mali and Mauritania, who benefit from a diverse and inclusive campus environment. Recognizing that food security is essential to student well-being, Abbas Laghrour University has implemented a targeted program to address food insecurity. This initiative includes awareness campaigns, titled “Hunger-Free Campus,” designed to promote awareness about food security, foster responsible consumption, and ensure that no student experiences hunger on campus. University dining facilities are regularly inspected to uphold quality standards, promoting a safe and supportive environment for students    In addition to addressing food security, the university ensures that meals provided on campus are balanced and sustainable. Each meal includes a selection of red meat, white meat, a variety of vegetables, and fruits to provide students with nutritionally rich options. These meals are offered at symbolic prices, making them accessible to all students, which contributes to an inclusive campus environment where dietary needs and health are prioritized. Moreover, the university’s commitment to inclusivity is reflected in its policy of offering free education to all students, irrespective of their social or financial background. This state-supported policy allows anyone with a high school diploma to access higher education, effectively eliminating financial barriers and providing equal opportunities for academic and professional development   Agricultural Production Improvement Projects:2 The scientific research conducted by the faculty members of Abbas Laghrour University in Khenchela reflects a significant interest in developing the agricultural sector and preserving the environment in Algeria. Their studies encompass a variety of approaches, including laboratory research and field studies. On the laboratory side, researchers have presented advanced studies on improving livestock production by examining the effects of methane inhibitors on the fermentation process, as detailed in a publication in the journal Biocatalysis and Agricultural Biotechnology. In the realm of field studies, researchers focused on the agricultural dynamics in the Ziban region, particularly concentrating on the El-Ghoras area as a case study. Sdg1: No Poverty Free university study Our university’s policy is based on free education, which contributes to accepting students in the various specializations available at our university based on the department and baccalaureate grade obtained by the student. The financial capabilities of those wishing to study have no effect on their acceptance because our university adopts a series of free education for all. University financial aid: In the context of eliminating financial disparities in the academic aspect of our students, our university relies on a policy of free university education, in addition to providing financial aid to every student whose parents’ income does not exceed 08 times the guaranteed national minimum wage of 20,000 DZD per month. To obtain the university grant, the student submits an application on the platform designated for grant applications via the PROGRES system line) at the beginning of each academic year via the link:  https:progres.mesrs.dz/webonou Each student registered in a higher education department benefits from a university studies grant during his/her academic career estimated at: 4050 DZD or 3600 DZD or 2700 DZD depending on the total annual income of the parents • To be registered in a higher education institution. • To not have a study delay equivalent to 04 semesters. • The grant excludes any other financial allocation. • The parents’ income does not exceed 08 times the guaranteed national minimum wage of 20,000 DZD per month. • To be pursuing his/her studies regularly (i.e. not having an academic break or his/her total mark in the current year equals zero).   The policy is to enable all students to study in the same conditions.
