On November 3, 2026, Professor Abdelwahed Challa, Rector of Abbes Laghrour University Khenchela, participated in the International Forum for Universities of Applied Sciences, held at Shanghai Dianji University in China. The forum hosted the founding conference of the International Alliance of Universities of Applied Sciences (IAUAS).
🔹 The international event brought together 24 university rectors from 17 countries across Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Africa to announce the establishment of this alliance. The initiative aims to foster academic cooperation among universities with an applied focus, expand the horizons of scientific partnership, and facilitate the exchange of expertise in the fields of research, innovation, and technology.
🔹 Abbes Laghrour University Khenchela joined the alliance as a founding member—the only Algerian university to do so. This achievement strengthens the university’s standing within the sphere of international academic cooperation and opens new avenues for partnerships and exchanges with higher education institutions from around the globe.
