On April 8, 2026, Abbas Laghrour University in Khenchela hosted the regional handball qualifiers for the Eastern Region (men’s and women’s categories). The event was held under the supervision of the University Rector and organized by the Provincial University Sports League and the Sub-Directorate of Scientific, Cultural, and Sports Activities, in coordination with the Directorate of Youth and Sports and the Provincial Handball League. Five university cities participated: Mila, Constantine, Oum El Bouaghi, Annaba, and Jijel. The competition took place at the multi-sports hall in Bazza Laroussi, Khenchela, under excellent organization and in a spirited, competitive atmosphere, reinforcing the values ​​of sportsmanship. Arab universities in the QS 2025 ranking The 2025 edition covers 20 Arab countries and provides an analysis of 246 universities among the best in the region. King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals retained the top spot in the Arab world, while Qatar University rose to second place, and King Saud University came in third.
