In conjunction with National Science Day, and as part of its efforts to support innovation and foster a culture of entrepreneurship, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, under the supervision of its Dean, Dr. Boubaker Ben Omrane, organized a regional competition entitled “Generation of Innovation” on April 15, 2026. The competition was aimed at students in the fields of humanities and social sciences.
🔹 This first-of-its-kind initiative aims to encourage students to engage in innovation and motivate them to transform their ideas into viable projects, thereby contributing to strengthening the university’s role as a driver of development and wealth creation.
🔹 The competition was attended by a distinguished group, including the President of the National Committee for Training in the Humanities and Social Sciences, expert professors, deans from various universities across the country, and students who are considered successful role models in the field of innovation. This initiative aimed to share inspiring experiences with the participants.
🔹 The event saw the participation of 17 university institutions with a total of 45 student competitors, distributed across three main categories:
▪️ Best innovative and feasible economic idea
▪️ Best innovative presentation in English
▪️ Best historical research with social and humanitarian impact
🔹 The competition took place across three main stages:
✓ Stage One:
This stage included an introduction to the competition, attended by university guests and faculty members, through a speech by the competition’s director, Professor Mahmoud Qarziz, followed by a speech from the Dean of the Faculty, and then a speech from the Head of the National Committee for the Humanities and Social Sciences, who officially opened the competition.
✓ Stage Two:
The competitions commenced at both the Entrepreneurship Development Center and the Khenchela University Business Incubator, where students presented their projects in a highly competitive environment before an evaluation committee comprised of professors and specialized experts.
✓ Stage Three:
This stage was dedicated to deliberations; The event then moved to the lecture hall to announce the winners, who were:
▪️ Boufench Wassila, a student from Skikda University, won the award for Best Innovative and Feasible Economic Idea.
▪️ Daghbouj Malak, a student from Souk Ahras University, won the award for Best Innovative Presentation in English in one of the humanities and social sciences disciplines.
▪️ Ansal Hanane, a student from Khenchela University, won the award for Best Historical Research with Social and Human Impact.
All those who contributed to the success of this event were also honored, including university guests and members of the judging and organizing committees.
