Breast Cancer Awareness Day – Pink October
As part of the international breast cancer awareness month, known as “Pink October,” the Annex of the Faculty of Medicine organized an awareness and educational day on October 18, 2026, in collaboration with the University Health Clinic and the Med Inspire Club, under the supervision of the Annex Director, Professor Ridouane Takouacht, and in coordination with Ahmed Ben Bella Hospital and Salhi Belkacem Specialized Hospital in Khenchela.
The event was held for female university staff, with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of early screening and diagnosis of breast cancer.
🔹 The event featured the participation of a multidisciplinary medical team comprising physicians, midwives, a psychologist, and a social worker. Health advice and guidance were provided on the importance of early screening and its role in improving treatment outcomes, while promoting a culture of prevention and health awareness.
🔹 The initiative was attended by the University Rector, Professor Abdelwahid Challah, and also attracted considerable interest and engagement from students. This reflects the importance of awareness-raising initiatives in promoting health education and strengthening awareness within the university community.
