Advanced Cyber Espionage Operation – “CamalClone” Malware
Pursuant to the ministerial telegram dated April 9, 2026, as well as the correspondence from the services of Khenchela Province regarding the detection of a malicious and dangerous electronic program targeting Algerian institutions, named “CamalClone”.
This program spreads through fraudulent phishing campaigns via email, by sending messages containing malicious files or links that impersonate official state institutions, including the use of logos and identity of the Ministry of Housing, Urban Planning, and City Development, in order to mislead recipients and infiltrate their information systems, thereby enabling unauthorized access to and theft of data and documents.
Therefore, we request that you:

Raise awareness among all employees within your departments about the risks of this cyber threat;

Exercise the utmost caution and vigilance when handling electronic correspondence, especially suspicious ones;

Strictly warn against opening or downloading files and links from unknown sources, particularly:

Compressed files (ZIP / RAR)

Untrusted images or attachments
